I am a resident of Rutherford County. Let me pose this question to you "would you rather go without power or hug trees in the name of global warming?" I am for alternative energy, however first and foremost we must have power to run water, light our houses, and other day to day necessities.
You tree-huggers don't seem to understand that it will take years to develop alternative energy that will equal this coal plant. One of those alternative sources is nuclear engery. I read you oppossed a nuclear waste dump in North Carolina. Are you also against nuclear power? If so I do not know how you tree-hugging ignorant sissies plan on getting your energy. May'be you don't plan on getting energy, maybe you just want to live in houses without electricity, or perhaps live like hippies out in the wilderness. That is perfectly fine with me, but don't force your crazy beliefs on us that want to live decent lives like people in the 21st century!
